This month's edition of Frequency features Shel Khan, an existential genre bending musician exploring different aspects of human life in her sound.
Shel Khan is a Toronto-based musician blending alternative, grunge, soul, and industrial music. Her sound is fierce, vulnerable, and evocative, with songs exploring themes of ancestry, nature, consciousness, loss, human connection, existentialism, Buddhism, and dialectics.
Human life contains soaring highs, bleak lows, beauty, violence, and everything in between. Shel aspires to touch as much of that multitude as possible.
Her debut self-produced EP, Garden, released May 8, 2026, marks a shift toward a darker, soulful, post-industrial alt-rock sound and is only the beginning.
