Hard Times come to the Trash Palace

It's 1933 and Chaney (Charles Bronson) is a man like many others, drifting across Depression Era America trying to keep his head above water. He eventually encounters bare-knuckle fighting for money and watches with interest. He ends up meeting Speed (James Coburn), a totally fast-talking conman making his living off these fights with by running bets.
That's about all you need to know as the film focuses on the trials and tribulations the two experience as they try to survive by literally using their wits and fists!
The film was directed by Walter Hill (The Warriors, 48 Hours, Streets of Fire, Crossroads) and his pairing of James Coburn and Charles Bronson was genius as their chemistry is amazing and you have no trouble believing them playing these Depression Era characters.
So come on down to the Trash Palace at CineCycle, 129 Spadina (just south of Queen and Spadina) on Friday May 9 for a screening of this 70s classic. The doors open at 8pm and the films start at 9pm and it's only $10 to get in.
