A benefit for PARC

On July 23rd, in collaboration with SHOUT!, Licentia & the Parkdale Activity and Recreation Centre, 9 MILLION, S.H.I.T., SIYAHKAL, DUCHESS & DIATRIBE are going to play, in Parkdale, at Parkdale Hall, with MEG REMY of US GIRLS DJing between acts.

PARC has been a force in Parkdale for approaching 50 years. They have spent those years providing support for people facing mental health and substance use challenges, homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity. They provide two hot meals a day, housing support, employment support and, most importantly, community.

PARC are literal neighbors of many of the people playing this show.

Recently, as PARC has been focussed on expanding its affordable housing programs, it has come under fire from people who consider them a blight, and would rather see them closed. The enemies of PARC, are the enemies of the Safe Consumption Sites, are the enemies Encampments, are the enemies of dignity and humanity.

So, all proceeds from this event will be going to PARC - to support their initiatives and to continue their good fight.

Beyond the proceeds, and the reason this is happening in Parkdale, this is meant as a true show of support, by the community for the community. There are more of us, than there are of them. This is a great way to prove it, with numbers.

It’s so easy to feel powerless right now. To this feeling, we must not concede. As always, we advise getting together with your people.

Tickets are on sale now. The fine folks at Dice have waived ticketing fees for us on this one. You will only pay the mandatory tax + credit card processing.

There are $30 tickets, $20 tickets for students, and a $60 pay-it-forward ticket that will allow a member of PARC to attend free of charge.
